ZFT Manuscript Page
I think there should be a "ZFT Manuscript" page, in which define the actual book.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gameplace123 (talk • contribs) .
- There is some ambiguity here about ZFT. Is it still an organisation or was that a misinterpretation by Broyles, in which case this page is about the manuscript, not the organisation. At this point a more chronological approach of what is learned about ZFT may be better than to conclude right from the start that this is an organisation.--LabgoTalk|Contribs 14:10, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
- Good point. I was getting ready to create a new page when I got a "edit conflict" message. ZFT almost certainly is the document. Now, what do we call the people? I've been toying with the "Pattern Forces."--Jim in Georgia Talk Contribs 14:19, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
- - First, it should be referred to as a Manifesto (not Manuscript). It was referenced as both in the episode, but the CONTENT is Manifesto, manuscript is just the FORMAT it was written in. (A public declaration of principles, policies, intentions, creed, method to desired outcome - Manifesto).
- - Second, "Destruction by Advancement of Technology" is the English translation passed by Olivia's German contact on her PDA. The document is seen in Walter's Note's as "Destruction Through Technological Progress". They essentially mean the same thing, but since the latter was printed, and the first could have been a rough translation I'd go with the printed in ENGLISH version.
- - Third, Olivia said - maybe we were wrong about it being an organization, maybe it is their Bible. Which she went on to prove. Thinking about manifesto's (I can just see Walter sitting in a 9' X 12' cabin, somewhere out in the north woods, typing up his manifesto like the unibomber)... then I thought - North Woods Group - that is one of the unidentified organizations from Dreamscape. George Morales was trying to make a deal with Olivia and he said, "Did I invent ZFT? Flight 627? The North Woods Group? John Scott? The Pattern?" -- we've seen everything in that list except - North Woods... there's your organization. –DocH– my edits 16:10, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
- The idea of North Woods Group as Jones and Loeb's group got me thinking, and I came upon this. There's potential that it could be setting up for a conspiracy within the government, a la The X-Files, assuming of course that there could be a real world connection. --Evil Joe 17:42, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
- Here we go. North Woods Group is available. I copied the people list over to the new page. In spite of Broyles' words, I guess the next step is to feed more information about the document into ZFT.--Jim in Georgia Talk Contribs 18:35, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
- - That makes the content of North Woods Group very close to a theory. In fact it may be better to put this in North Woods Group/Theories and just leave the info about Morales comments on the main page. --LabgoTalk|Contribs 19:03, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
- - That's true; I played that one a little too loose to get the ball rolling.--Jim in Georgia Talk Contribs 22:58, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
- - Sure, ZFT equals SWAG. But we have 7 weeks to ep-115, we can always demote later. Glad to see all of the new contribs. –DocH– my edits
