Raul Lugo is a bank robber whose body was stuck halfway in a bank vault.
About
Raul Lugo is one of five bank robbers who steal a heavy box from safety deposit box 610 located in the vault of the Philadelphia Mutual Savings Bank in Safe. The robbers are able to enter the vault through the metal wall using a technology first seen in The Dreamscape. As Hugo attempts to leave the vault, the metal wall solidifies around him, effectively trapping him. Unable to escape, he is shot dead by Mitchell Loeb, who is in charge of the team.
When Olivia arrives at the scene, she recognizes Lugo and remembers serving with him in the Marines and having dinner with him and his wife at his house. However, after talking to Lugo's wife, Susan, Olivia realizes that she never knew Lugo. Her memories of the man ware in fact John Scott's memories in her mind.
Drew, a bartender known to Lugo, tells Olivia that Lugo went through a rough time after returning from the Gulf War, spending much of his time at a VA hospital (later found to be in Washington, D.C.) due to post-traumatic stress. Lugo was under the care of Dr. Bruce Miller. At the hospital, Olivia is able to find out that Lugo was part of a group called "The Chess Club" with three other men.
