Clone of Walter
Theory Description:
Peter is a clone of Walter. It explains why Walter mysteriously "doesn't remember" the teen period of Peter's life, as well as the time discrepancy: Walter spent 17 years in the institution which makes Peter 13 years old when he was locked up yet Walter was present at Peter's high school graduation. -- originally posted by Alexradu
     Supporting Facts or Evidence:

  1. On multiple occasions, Walter confuses his and Peter's history. He claims that his own childhood toys are Peter's, and initially claims that his own obsession with coffee yogurt was Peter's.. -- originally posted by Morestuff
  2. Current cloning techniques require a surrogate mother who gives birth to the clone after normal gestation. Peter could be a clone of Walter and still have been born.. -- originally posted by Onthefringe
  3. On multiple occasions Walter complains that he acts too much like his mother and on occasion Walter "You're supposed to be like me" -- originally posted by Jelly
  4. In the episode Momentum Deferred Rebecca Kibner seems to think Peter looks vaguely familiar maybe peter is at the age when she knew Walter
     Contradictory Facts or Evidence:

  1. According to episode 2, Walter remembers Peter's birth, saying that, though most babies eyes are blue when they are born, Peter's were green, this indicated that Peter was, indeed, born.. -- originally posted by Bannwiegel
  2. If Peter was a clone of Walter, he would be at the same age with him in molecular level and would experience many health problems all along his life because cells of a clone contain the same DNA with the donor and as organisms age, telomeres at the end of their chromosomes shorten and this causes age-related diseases. Considering the age of Walter when he started experimenting, and knowing that he was institutionalized for 17 years which would prevent him to interfere if his son had some extraordinary health problems related to his aged cells, Peter can't be a clone of Walter.. -- originally posted by Molaiwe
  3. If Peter was a clone of Walter, wouldn't Peter look exactly like Walter?. -- originally posted by --Waterlilys 14:45, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
  4. We know that Peter came from an alternate universe, this would imply that he is not a clone, he is just the version from the alternate universe. Also the confusion of Walters history could have been because of the differences between the original peter (who died of Hepia) and the new one.

Clone of Walter first son
Theory Description:
Peter is a clone of Walter's first son. The first version of him actually died of the illness Walter mentioned in Safe. -- originally posted by Joannalyn
     Supporting Facts or Evidence:

  1. He worries that Peter, as the second version, could become ill as well. -- originally posted by Joannalyn
  2. In his confusion, he at times mistakes the clones' histories-and this is why Peter doesn't remember or disagrees with what Walter says about him. -- originally posted by Joannalyn
     Contradictory Facts or Evidence:

  1. If he were a clone of the alternate reality Peter as opposed to actual alter Peter, he would be 7 years younger unless alter Peter was cloned at birth for some unrelated reason.--Cadae 13:37, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

Peter is from the alternate universe
Theory Description:
Peter did not get well from his illness as explained by Walter. Instead, Walter retrieved a version of Peter from a parallel universe using his technology, a version that never contracted the disease.--LabgoTalk|Contribs 11:29, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
     Supporting Facts or Evidence:

  1. This could also be an explanation for why Walter often becomes confused about Peter's childhood. -- originally posted by Cuban wizard
  2. In Inner Child, Peter notes that he remembers a scar on his GI Joe being on the other side. Perhaps that was something that was different in, and he remembered from, the parallel universe.. -- originally posted by Cuban wizard
  3. This could also explain why Peter's life and goals differs so much from Walter's. He is actually the son of a parallel Walter.. -- originally posted by Cuban wizard
  4. This theory is practically confirmed in There's More Than One of Everything when Walter tells Peter that he lost something dear to him and had to get it from the other universe. Then we find out at the cemetery that Peter Bishop died at the age of 7.--LabgoTalk|Contribs 11:29, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
  5. Current Peter is either alternate reality Peter or he is a clone of alternate reality Peter. This explains why Walter knows so much about the alternate reality, especially where to go to cross over into it, as well as why Walter always misremembers Peter's childhood, because he is remembering dead Peter's childhood. Peter not remembering his favorite coin, and everything else about his childhood that Walter brings up, confirms this story. Since Peter Bishop apparently died of the disease, when adding in the context of There's More Than One of Everything it must be that Peter is somehow related to the alternate reality, either as alter-Peter or as a clone of alter-Peter.. -- originally posted by Vreddy92
  6. In Momentum Deferred, we see that Rebbecca (while she was leaving) saw that "glow" she spoke about earlier in the episode, that indicates if someone has come from the other side, around Peter. -- originally posted by icy worlds
  7. In Dream Logic, Peter has a dream that he is in his room at night as a child and only sees Walter in the mirrior. Beside the mirrior is a poster clearly showing space shuttle Challenger Mission 11 which never happened, since the Challenger was lost on its tenth mission. -- originally posted by phonelegs
  8. In Jacksonville, in the last scene Peter is glowing through the eyes of Olivia. Glowing is something that was used by Olivia to describe how she knows what things are from an alternate universe--originally posted by Poindexterc 13:43, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
     Contradictory Facts or Evidence:

  1. In Jacksonville, Walter explains, "I believe that in the moments before the event when the fabric of the two universes is rubbing together, that the building on this side will begin to take on that glimmer." It is not obvious that Peter is from the other universe (at this time - 9 Feb 10) as Walter has not admitted it - nor have they definitively shown us. They stated that the glimmer is moments before the event - Peter crossed over decades ago. Olivia's fear let her see the building. She wasn't in fear when she looked at Peter. -- –DocH my edits 05:12, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

Peter turning the lights off
Theory Description:
Did Olivia turn off the lights to the bomb in ABILITY, or did Peter? -- originally posted by Kenjinattix
     Supporting Facts or Evidence:

  1. Peter was the one who rigged the first test light box to go off and never explains how he did it. -- originally posted by Kenjinattix
  2. It is quite self explainitory that he uses some kind of timer or other device to rig the lights to turn off.. -- originally posted by Goodie
  3. The lights on the bomb do not go off until Peter comes back from the elevator and stands behind Olivia. -- originally posted by Kenjinattix
  4. "Before they can be considered soldiers - they must be regarded as recruits, and the expectation must be that they shall be unwilling" - Olivia was willing to die trying to defuse the bomb, but Peter was unwilling to let her die. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by A*man (talkcontribs) .
     Contradictory Facts or Evidence:

  1. (non-concur on #4 above) Posted theory refers to the Ability of Olivia and/or Peter. Unwillingness and/or Expectations does not address Ability - inherent, fostered or manipulated.

Peter treated with Cortexiphan
Theory Description:
Just like Olivia and others, Peter was treated as a child with Cortexiphan.
     Supporting Facts or Evidence:

  1. Both Oliva and Peter are multi-lingual (German, Arabic, Chinese dialects). It could be that Corteciphan improves the ability to learn languages (or is this merely Olivia's FBI training, and Peter's exceptional I.Q. ... or maybe just coincidence) . originally posted by waterlilys
     Contradictory Facts or Evidence:

  1. Olivia was treated when she was three. If Peter had been treated at the same age it would have been from the other universe. If alterPeter had been treated, was it at three or once he was brought to this universe as an older child?. originally posted by waterlilys

Peter Died when he fell into the water.
Theory Description:
Peter died when he fell into the cold water. Walter couldn't save him as his limbs had gone numb and he could not control them. The Observer intervened to help Walter pull back an alternate Peter from the other side, therefore creating the situation of Walter having to repay this debt when years later the Observer came to the lab and said "Its time" . -- originally posted by waterlilys
     Supporting Facts or Evidence:

  1. Walter said he once lost something of value that he replaced with something from the otherside. (can someone help with the exact quote?).. -- originally posted by waterlilys
  2. This is why Peter doesn't remember anything of what Walter remembers of Peter's childhood. -- originally posted by waterlilys
  3. Walter, in his confusion doesnt think of Peter as having died in the water as he brought him back. -- originally posted by waterlilys
  4. In "Safe", Walter tells Peter that when he was a little boy he contracted a very rare disease similar to Hepia, and speaks of a Dr. Alfred Gross, the only man to ever successfully cure a case of Hepia, but that Peter got better on his own. Peter may not have died of an illness after all. For Walter to put a favorite coin on Peter's grave doesnt infer Peter died of an illness, just that he died. -- originally posted by waterlilys
  5. Walter saying he wanted to crossover to the other side to bring something back only reinforces Peter being from the other side, it doesnt say how Walter/Peter crossed over or when. The Observer could have "pulled" them both back literally or he could have shared with Walter "how to" crossover during the time of the rescue - (just like Olivia was not in her car for over an hour between the time of her car accident and the time she shot through the windshield of that car, at least on this side where time may have been in moments on the otherside- similar to possible time being spent on the other side/ Peter/Walter/the Observer during a "rescue" from the cold water.) -- originally posted by waterlilys
  6. Walter helping the Observer protect the Beacon only infers a payback, it doesnt prove or confirm when or how Peter died.-- originally posted by waterlilys
     Contradictory Facts or Evidence:

  1. Peter died of an illness which had him scared for a period of time beforehand in which he collected coins to feel better. That's why Walter put the favorite coin on the grave.--Cadae 13:37, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
  2. Walter repaid his debt to the Observer by protecting the beacon.--Cadae 13:37, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
  3. To answer the question in supporting fact number 1, the exact quote was, "Around this time, something was lost to me, Peter! Something precious. I became convinced that if only I could cross over myself, then I could take from there what I'd lost here." This would contradict the idea that the Observer reached in the water and pulled out alternate universe Peter. That is, assuming what was lost was indeed Peter.--Cadae 14:02, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
