Non-canon describes information extracted from sources that are not associated with the Creative Staff of FRINGE, or the organizations authorized to officially represent, distribute, market or otherwise promote the show. Non-canon sources include unofficial media outlets, fan websites, personal and commercial weblogs, wikis, wikias, online databases, electronic games or on-line role-playing games associated with FRINGE - also known as In-Universe.

In-universe perspective describes narrative about characters within the fictional universe, treating it as if it were real and ignoring real-world context and sourced analysis (the show itself). In-universe perspective can be highly inaccurate and misleading, giving undue weight to unimportant information... inviting unverifiable data and concepts.
